One day Electric Wheelchair Course
FREE OF CHARGE

The purpose of this course is to:

Train the child who uses an electric vehicle in indoor mobility and introduce to its use outdoors.

Advice will be available on the management of any problems the child may have with control, posture and the acquistion of a suitable chair from the NHS.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

11.00 The structure of the vehicle Disengaging the motors. What to remove to get in and out of the chair. How to get in and out of chair. 15.15 The 4 inch kerb

11.45 Turning through the doorway and reversing

The times noted above are approximate.

12.15 Crossing the road
12.45 Chair Maintenance: Tyres, brakes, footplates, seat belts, battery charging. Reporting faults. The approved repairer.
